Who We Are

Nurturing Future Leaders in Accountancy

As ICAS’ social mobility charity, we invite young people to our programme right up until they graduate, helping them to perform to their best potential. We provide every young person with individualised support, ready for further professional training and employment with a focus on a career in the accountancy profession.

Our vision is an accountancy profession without unnecessary barriers to entry, where every talented young person, regardless of their background has the opportunity and support to pursue a successful career.

The ICAS Foundation enables ICAS members to:

  • Support social mobility, ethnic diversity and gender diversity in students studying accountancy and finance at university
  • Help promote ICAS to a more diverse audience and thereby enhance its reputation
  • Assist ICAS Foundation students through mentoring, financial support and work experience opportunities
  • Give back to their profession through socially responsible actions which engage a more diverse range of students for the next generation of CAs.

Since launching, the ICAS Foundation has supported young people from disadvantaged communities to study accounting and finance at undergraduate degree level. The Foundation relies on the financial support of ICAS and its members to carry out its charitable work.

ICAS Foundation strategy 2023-2030

Our 2030 strategy aims to see us support even more people from low-income and challenging backgrounds into an accountancy or finance-related degree. Helping to kickstart the careers of those students is vital, not just for ICAS, but for the future of the profession and the wider economy – because CAS’s are needed and add value across every sector.
