Last month, the ICAS Foundation was awarded the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. The Investing in Volunteers Award, which we’ll hold for the next three years, means we are delivering recognised good practice across our volunteer programmes for our mentors, trustees and ambassadors.

We were rigorously assessed on nine different areas, including selection and matching techniques, and volunteer development. More than 350 organisations and groups across the UK currently hold this accreditation at various levels, and we are extremely proud to be among them.

ICAS Foundation Head of Volunteering and Programmes, Amy Drysdale, said:

‘"Achieving the Investing in Volunteers award demonstrates our commitment to high-quality volunteer management, and we’re delighted that our efforts are being recognised. The accreditation process allowed us to reflect on and review our current processes with our volunteers, ensuring that we consistently offer a great experience for our current volunteers and continue to develop and improve as we welcome new volunteers in the future. Our volunteers are crucial to our programme, nurturing talented young people from low-income backgrounds, and helping them to flourish in accountancy and finance careers."

If you're an experienced accountancy professional, such as an ICAS CA, or have relevant experience to share with an undergraduate student looking to enter the accountancy or finance sector, you can volunteer with the ICAS Foundation to mentor a student on our programme. Find out more here
